Fox announced today that The Masked Singer has been picked up for a fourth season. Coming two weeks ahead of the show's third season finale, the renewal is a no-brainer, as the singing competition remains a strong performer.
Based on a format that originated out of South Korea, the series premiered in 2019 to an unsuspecting US audience with the potential to end up as another mid-season flop. But its strange, silly, and unique take on the reality singing genre piqued viewers' curiosity, and word-of-mouth took over from there.
The Masked Singer features celebrities going head-to-head in a singing competition that has an intriguing twist: each singer is wearing an elaborate costume that completely conceals their identity. Competitors include singers, actors, and athletes - all trying to keep the audience and panelists in the dark about who they really are. As singers are eliminated each week, their true identities are revealed.
Fox is targeting Season 4 of The Masked Singer for a premiere later this year.

This is such a great show for celebrities to be on and showcase a new or lost talent. Only issue I have with the show is there was a lot of negative comments on some celebrities getting voted off and the ones not as good getting to stay. This is a big issue that the show needs to work on because I believe that producers brought celebrities in like Chaka Khan knowing they did not want to or were not available for more than a few shows. I do think in that respect the show is rigged. As far as the winner goes, the top 3 are usually all very good and all deserve to win so I don't think anyone gets robbed but would hate to be person deciding.

I have loved this show from episode 1 of season 1!! I am not shocked that it got renewed and expect it to be on for a long time. YAY!!

Good news! Although not totally unexpected. I actually would have been shocked if it wasn't renewed. It's one of the only reality tv shows I like. Hope it's on for many seasons to come!
