The low-rated airline drama will end after 14 episodes.
November 29, 2011
When Pan Am was left off of ABC's midseason schedule two weeks ago, the writing was on the wall that the network was not planning to continue on with the series. Despite ABC's refusal to confirm the show's cancallation, things were not looking good for the low-rated drama.
Today, however, comes the final nail in the coffin. One of Pan Am's stars, Karine Vanasse, posted the following message on her Twitter account:
"Well, we received THE call, #PanAm is only coming back for one more episode after Christmas. But up to the end, we'll give it our all !"
Barring a miracle, Pan Am's days appear to be numbered. The show has five episodes left to air between now and early next year.

I absolutely adore Pan Am and couldn't wait for the next episode to air. It is a wonderful nostalgic show and great fun. I cannot believe it could be cancelled. So dreadfully disappointed ABC !!

I'm finding it hard to believe anything these people say. Pan Am has not been cancelled as was announced early last week. What are these people doing, sitting on their hands?

Show's are rarely "officially" cancelled by networks. It doesn't benefit them to announce a show's cancellation, especially when there are episodes left to air.
The fact that Pan Am is not on ABC's midseason schedule AND one of the stars tweeted about the show ending is enough to say it is Cancelled.

PanAm? Give me a break. I watched the first show and knew that it was a bomb. Acting was awlful and all the smiles? What was up with that. It looked like a fairy tale show gone bad. I agree with the above. Journeyman, Rubicon and even lie to me were great shows. Pan Am, no comparision. Glad it's gone.

As a general rule of mine, I try and give all new tv series a chance by watching 3 episodes. This one I was done with by the end of Ep 2. The story was boring and the acting of our lead gals were sub par. Perhaps I was still holding a grudge towards ABC for the unceremonious cancellation of Brothers & Sisters but I had pretty much determined that Pan Am was destined to crash and burn with mass casulties. To be honest, it lasted longer than I expected it would. And yes a lot of good shows will continue to end before their time (ie B&S, Human Target, Lone Star), PA just isn't one of them. Now if you will all move towards the emergency exits...

Network tv is just killing itself slowly. I rarely even watch any shows on network tv anymore, mainly because I don't find anything I like, but also because I fear getting drawn into a show only to have it moved around on the schedule so much or pre-empted so much that it ends up cancelled. Well what do you know, the ONLY network show I did decide to invest my time in this season, Pan Am, is getting the boot SURPRISE! Too bad it didn't start out on HBO it might have actually had a chance with those less fickle tv execs there :(
