The low-rated airline drama will end after 14 episodes.
November 29, 2011
When Pan Am was left off of ABC's midseason schedule two weeks ago, the writing was on the wall that the network was not planning to continue on with the series. Despite ABC's refusal to confirm the show's cancallation, things were not looking good for the low-rated drama.
Today, however, comes the final nail in the coffin. One of Pan Am's stars, Karine Vanasse, posted the following message on her Twitter account:
"Well, we received THE call, #PanAm is only coming back for one more episode after Christmas. But up to the end, we'll give it our all !"
Barring a miracle, Pan Am's days appear to be numbered. The show has five episodes left to air between now and early next year.

What a shame. Bring back the good days of flying and this happens. For me, it was on a bit too late, so had to watch it on ON DEMAND or ABC.COM. I flew Pan Am for many years, when it was strictly international. It was sad to see it's demise when they went under and I can only hope that the executives at ABC will reconsider and give it a renewal.

I think the problem with this show is that it was marketed like the Playboy Club, all sizzle no substance. Because of that I almost did not watch it.One night I gave it a chance and found it to be a good show and really entertaining. It needed, however, some fun guest stars to draw. For goodness sakes have we learned nothing from the AIRPORT movies. Perfect situation for a ton of guest stars . They should have tried that or maybe they did not have the budget for it. Either way, the network gave up on it. It threw it in the deep end & watched it go down.

Im sad to hear Pan Am has been cancelled. I enjoyed this show very much because it was unique and it reminded me of simple times. While this show has been cancelled, it's hard to understand how many reality shows still remain.

Journeyman, Rubicon and Lie to Me, all really good shows that I enjoyed. All, of course, cancelled. And yes, I fear that A Gifted Man will be next. If it has a plot, intelligence and good acting, it is a candidate for cancellation thanks to the morons who make these decisions.

Pan Am caught my attention (a la Mad Men .... pay attention here producers and writers) because I lived and loved the era .... but the story lines and character plots began to draw me in closer to the show to the point where it was one I tried not to miss ... would have liked it to be on a week night .... Prime Suspect is a gritty show with the characters seemingly more true to life than any so called reality show and so for that I guess it had to go .... thank God for my Apple TV internet connection ...

That is sad news.
Seems to me, the only shows deserving renewal have plenty of sex scenes, blood spitting everywhere, guns blazing or some realy bad singers yeling a lot.
I miss some good series like flashforward, lie to me, life, outsourced, portlandia, Rubicon, Pan am, Journeyman, and others...
Seems the entire world seeks sex and violence.
The next is Gifted man ?

my wife and i saw the first 3 episode when we were in florida recently.
it's just started here in the UK and we're ready to pick it up again. we both grew up in this era and love programmes that depict the period correctly like mad men.
haven't seen enough episodes yet to give a real opinion but it certainly looked as if it was trying to reflect the
atmosphere and period.
