The medical drama's first season is extended.

CBS has topped up the first season of Code Black, ordering five additional episodes of the medical drama. While the series is off to a relatively slow start through its first eight weeks, the top-up gives it a little more time to improve its numbers.
The extra episodes give Code Black a total of 18 for Season 1, just short of the typical 22 that comprise a full season. New episodes air Wednesday nights at 10:00pm.

I loveeeeeee this show. I cry, laugh and get mad all in one eposide. The story lines are sooooo good. Please never take this off the air.

Love this show. So realistic very similar to what ER was when it first started, before it turned into a soap opera. I hope it stays this realistic and doesnt start revolving around the hospital staff's love lives!! Like every hospital show eventually seems to do!

We love Code Black! Please bring it back, it was a great show to watch instead of reality shows or dancing/acting/singing shows!

Love the show, the cast, the best medical drama on. I am a ER Nurse, very realistic emergency medicine scenes. The show is exciting, intense, and so much better than, stupid comedy, and reality bullshit shows. Bring it back please....

I Love Code Black. Finally a compelling realistic show. keep this Great show and cast on the air. Cancel one of the many STUPID Comedy shows

This is a terrific show! The plots are compelling, the characters and relationships are believable. This show quickly become a favorite in our household. We're rooting for Code Black to find the audience it deserves.

Every year my favorite shows are canceled. Please don't do this again. Marcia Gay Harden is an amazing actor backed up with a stellar cast. Do the right thing, CBS

My Mother, Husband and I love this show! It keeps you watching all the way through--why would CBS even consider canceling such a magnificent show?? The acting is good and characters are relatable--I especially love Jesse and LeeAnn. Please don't cancel this show; it's one of the good ones out there!

This show needs to be renewed. I am a nurse and I can not believe how close this show comes to the real thing. We have an official code black fan club page on facebook. Hey fyi, we also have a petition on change.org. to have it renewed. I think it's about time television networks need to listen to the fan and not ratings.

I really enjoy watching this show and hope that it continues on tv. It's one of the few shows that I watch. There are too many trashy "reality" shows on nowadays, which really turn me and my husband off. Code Black is definitely an exception and example of great programming! Please keep it on the air! With so few good programs on tv these days, we're seriously considering cancelling our cable. Keeping Code Black on the air would make us want to continue cable even if the prices have gotten outrageously high.
