The cop drama will conclude its run this summer.
January 7, 2016
TNT announced today that Rizzoli & Isles will end after its upcoming seventh season. The long-running crime drama was renewed last summer though no mention was made about an end to the series until today.
Rizzoli & Isles will be going out strong, ranking as one of the most-viewed shows on basic cable over the course of its run, as well as being TNT's second-most watched series behind The Closer.
Look for the final 13-episode season this coming summer.

I really love the show! Hate to see it end! I hope the stars find another series that will equal this one but seriously doubt it.

Very sorry to hear, but happy it is known and won't get an unfinished last episode like shows that are cancelled out of the blue. Glad to have it on DVD.

It seems that the networks are cancelling all the best shows. R & I is always ranked high - so the networks pull it and replace with a show that is geared to idiots or elementary students.

Glad it is ending - cannot stand Harmon's character any more.

i hate that this show is ending-it is one of the best out there!! I hope we can change that and keep it on air-especially as Sasha Alexander just won the people's choice award!!

What a shame. This is one show I really look forward to watching every week. I hope Sascha Alexander finds a new series soon so I can continue seeing that gorgeous woman on tv every week.

Why do people assume it's been cancelled when it states clearly that it will end?
If a show is cancelled then it's the network but if it's being allowed to end and it's been announced a whole season before then it's normally because the stars, writers and network have all agreed that it's time to move on.
Maybe Angie and Sasha want to spend more time with their families, maybe now they're better known they want to spread their creative wings or maybe the writers and those behind the scenes feel they don't want to repeat storylines or have taken the characters as far as they can.
The show would never work if it wasn't Angie and Sasha and their amazing chemistry together so as sad as it is in the long run maybe it's for the best. They will get to finish their storylines and fingers crossed the writers will pull out all the stops for the final season.
