The action drama will move networks in 2016-2017.
May 12, 2016
It is being reported that Supergirl has been renewed for a second season, but not by CBS. It had been speculated in recent weeks that the superhero drama might move networks were it to return, and today those rumors were proven true as The CW has picked up series for the 2016-2017 season.
The move puts Supergirl on the same network as related DC superhero shows Arrow and The Flash, the latter of whose namesake has already appeared in a Supergirl episode. Noted as being one of the more expensive shows to produce, Supergirl will be moving production from Los Angeles to Vancouver, Canada for Season 2 in an effort to cut down on its budget.

CW, you SUCK !!! (but i still love the Flash, Arrow and Legends) How can you bring the so-so Supergirl over but abandon the FAR superior Constantine to the trash heap ???

This must be a kick in between the legs for Constantine fans. It got a full season order and a renewal on the network all Constantine fans hoped would save their show. CW if you didn't mainline Soap Opera drama like heroin you would be the best network . You just can't help it though.

This is a great show. It got better each episode. Thank goodness they saved it. THe cw is a fine network. And now supergirl can guest star in the arrow or flash or the legends show.

Tried to like it.. but there was just way too much "love" drama in it and the moronic EDA or DEA or DED or EOD or whatever that agency is... made up acronyms you've never heard of before just ring FAKE every time they are heard. And having that one guy be an alien.. that's where they lost me. Just poor direction overall. It's a 3rd grade sci-fi project, not a real show. Why they need to throw in aliens and estranged family members (from a planet that exploded) is a mystery. Just cheesy writing all around.

Shawn wrote "I think we will find out that Superman is black"?? We saw 'Baby Kal-El' leaving Krypton at the beginning of the first episode. It seems unlikely that he changed color during the trip.
Glad to see this on the CW now... let's continue to build the CW's DC Television universe!

I've been waiting for this news and I'm so happy to hear it! I know that the show is disliked by some people because of the lightness of it, but I think it works just because they don't take themselves too seriously and kept it upbeat.

So glad to hear that this show is moving where it really belongs, the CW, already home of The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. This will make Flash/Supergirl cross-overs more likely, just like Flash/Arrow cross-overs. Finally, a decent show doesn't get s**t-canned.

Malvaudo...I agree about the Superman appearances, but I think there are two reasons for this:
1. They don't want to detract from Supergirl. This is her show not Superman's; and
2. I think we will find out that Superman is black. They don't want to reveal this right now. Maybe another season or episode, when he gets his own show. (my hope anyway).
That is just my opinion.
