The superhero drama will be back for 2018-2019.
April 2, 2018
The CW announced today that Supergirl has been renewed for a fourth season. Airing on Monday nights, the series draws fairly consistent ratings that place it in the middle of the pack compared to other shows in the network's lineup.
The action drama has fared well since its move to the network from its original home on CBS. Being on The CW also allows it benefit from crossover episodes with other shows from the DC Comics universe, which have proven to give it a significant ratings bump.
All five of its DC superhero series were picked up today by The CW. Fans can look forward to more Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Black Lightning in the 2018-2019 television season.

I predict that Lena Luthor will one day be evil. Too bad. I like her character. Kara needs to become the upbeat person she was and get over her depression. It just brings the show down. Now they're adding a dementia patient. I don't watch this show for social commentary. I don't want to see the soap opera with Kara and Monel wanting to get together or not. I don't even want to see that tension. Let it go. I want to watch good guys fight bad guys with interesting plots with action. All of that other stuff just works to ultimately kill the show. I've seen it happen a hundred times. Writers want to play. So they change the formula of the show and it dies.
