The CW announced today that Supergirl has been renewed for a fifth season. Airing on Sunday nights this season for the first time in its run, the series has continued to draw respectable ratings that place it in the middle of the pack compared to other shows in the network's lineup.
The action drama has been a solid addition to The CW's superhero lineup since its move from its original home on CBS after Season 1. Airing on The CW, the show benefits from crossover episodes with other shows from the DC Comics universe, which have proven to give it a significant ratings bump.
All four other superhero series were also picked up today by The CW. Fans can look forward to more Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Black Lightning in the 2019-2020 television season.

"Buffy" was pretty good at this, but these DC shows have never reached that level.
I've got all of this season's shows on my DVR, but I don't know if I'll ever watch them. I find that once I got out of the habit of watching each week I just don't care anymore.
