The sophomore drama ends at Season 2.
May 14, 2016
NBC has cancelled The Mysteries of Laura after two seasons. The Debra Messing drama was a decent performer for the network, though its older-skewing audience affected its ratings in the key adults 18-49 demographic.
The series began its run in the fall of 2014 with a full 22-episode first season. NBC was more conservative with Season 2, cutting down its episode count to 16. Unfortunately for fans, the series finale in March ended on a bit of a cliffhanger that will now never be resolved.

wow, I am shocked about this show getting the ax. Castle was on for a long time and it was not a surprise. BUt this stinks.

Yes this does suck. This was a great show. And Castle too, although I wouldn't have wanted it on without Beckett. Time to start to watch old movies instead of investing in these shows that they screw around with time slots and then cancel because they can't build an audience. Would expect this from CBS but I agree with Susan. Cancel those Chicago shows and I'm done.

Agreed with the above. I'm so tired of getting hooked into a show and have it end. But, to have it end on such a huge cliffhanger is like rubbing salt in the wound. Why do we even watch tv anymore? I guess we need to just go to the movies and hope for a sequel instead of committing months (interrupted months at that) to a good show with a great cast and have it be cut.

A piece of advice, DO NOT start watching: Timeless, Trial & Error, This Is Us, Taken, The Good Place, Powerless, Midnight Texas, Marlon, Great News, or Chicago Justice when they air. Why bother? Find a network with a little more confidence in their original decisions to persue a project. All the best to you cast and crew of MoL.

This was a great show! I enjoyed the mix of professional (the cases) and the personal interactions of the characters. You could at least give it a short season to end it properly. Poor decision NBC! Cancel the Chicago shows and you will have nothing worth watching.

The Mysteries of Laura is great show! I love the storyline and the characters. My teenage daughter could watch it with me. But once again, if a show isn't full of sexual situations, trashiness, or "scripted reality" it gets cancelled. You suck NBC!! No wonder I watch CBS & Netflix!

PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE DON'T cancel Mysterys of Laura. I, as well as all of my friends and family truly enjoyed this show. This was one cop show that displayed how a police investigative units internal workings and relationships and transpired over days, weeks, and months. As most police shows the investigations weren't always like most true investigations but the story lines were awesome. PLEASE give the show another chance. A show this great deserves a chance to show that it is a 10 or 15 yr show or even longer.
Thank you for your time and consideration

I really liked this show! The characters were engaging and had great chemistry together. So many of my shows have been cancelled, I'm running out of things to watch :(

I cannot believe all the great shows that are being canceled !! I am so tired of NBC and really all of the networks that seem to think all we want to see is reality TV. My family does not watch one reality show which means in the next couple of years we will have absolutely nothing to watch.
Mysterys of Laura was a favorite of ours and now I see they've canceled Heartbeat too !
Shame on you NBC !!! All I can say is if you start canceling the Chicago Med..Fire..and PD you will loose a lifetime viewer..
