AMC announced today that Preacher has been renewed for a second season. The freshman comic book-adapted drama is just over a month into its debut run, which so far has it ranked as the #2 new series on cable in 2016 among key demographics.
The cable network is increasing the episode count for Season 2 of Preacher, ordering 13 episodes for the show's return, which is slated for 2017.

yes a weird show, comes across so much better in the comics. For those who have already stopped watching you aren't really missing that much. <Spoiler removed>

So glad Preacher got renewed! I really love this show, even though I am compelled to cover my eyes for the really gruesome scenes. AMC is my favorite channel!

this is a weird horror show. The preacher has a demon in him and he doesn't self implode. It's strange and different. So this is good news.

It's moving a tad slow if you ask me... especially with scenes like the western Ratwater scene in the last episode that really, so far, has NOTHING to do with the rest of the show..... but it is intriguing. I'm sure things will come together eventually. So far I like it and it's holding my interest more than making my eyes roll :)

Happy this was renewed as well. This is an interesting show. Twin Peaks meets Supernatural if you haven't seen it.
