ABC has renewed Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a fifth season. The veteran drama had been seen as being on the bubble for another pickup after ratings in its most-recent season really starting to dwindle. Propping up its weak overnight performance, though, is said to be its strong DVR viewership, international audience, and tie-in with other franchises within the Marvel universe.

Love this show and don't understand why the ratings aren't better. Granted, it's not as dynamic as the movies, but, it's TV, after all, which just doesn't have the budget to compete with the movies.
The acting is very good, the cast is good, with changes made from time to time, except for the few main characters, to keep things fresh, the story lines are good--yes, the evil robot has been done to death--but the actors carried this story with good acting.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is good, decent TV, and I'm in for the long haul. And, it's those of us who DVR it who are keeping it on the air.

This show needs to figure out what it is about. The previous seasons it just wandered about, with no internal logic. Mostly the story line served to feed the audience for the movies.
This last season was more focused, with just two main story lines. But it showed how risky that can be. The "Ghost Rider" story bored me, but things picked up in the last half with the Framework storyline.

I thought this show jumped the shark with the robot storyline, but it built up to the end of this season with the framework, which has been excellent. Each season gets better. I'm glad it was renewed. I can never watch it live, so I have to wait until the weekend to catch up. It's tough, but I manage.

Agents of Shield, has grown stronger with each season. The Agents of Hydra "pod" is fantastic, I can't wait to see how things turn out next Tuesday.

I hated this season. The evil robot story has been done a million times. I'm done with it. I wish it would have been canceled.

I skipped season 2 and 3 gave this season a shot because of ghost rider and I have to say im glad I did this season was straight up TERRIFIC

Great news. It has been a very solid to great season. To all those who gave up on the show before the release of The Winter Soldier or wanted to see all the standard Marvel heroes, your missing a great show. And given the late start on the east coast, I generally record and watch the next day or so. So happy this has been renewed.
