The action series will return in 2018-2019.
May 14, 2018
ABC announced today that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been picked up for a sixth season. The good news comes as the network is making last-minute decisions on its lineup for the 2018-2019 television season.
The veteran drama has had a solid run on the network overall, reaching the impressive 100-episode milestone earlier this year. The series has been on the bubble come renewal time in recent years, though, as its current ratings are far from what they used to be. However, the series benefits from its international appeal and its ability to tie-in with movie franchises within the Marvel universe.
Look for Season 6 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to premiere in the summer of 2019.

I enjoy watching AOS and would there will be a season 7. I’m 63 and a fan of any PG-13 sci-fi movies and shows.
Thank you, ABC for investing your money into the AOS.

@ michael dobey : If Disney does not want it to go away, it is not going away. ABC is owned by Disney. ABC actually wanted to cancel it after 4 seasons, but Disney overrode the decision. I hope they keep doing it again and again.

YESSSS!!! I was so so sure this was gonna be the final season, especially in the later part of the current season, where it seemed like they were wrapping things up for sure. So so releaved that we are getting another, and hopefully many more, seasons of the series. YESSS!!

They want to kill this show. That is why they want to wait to summer 2019 to bring it back. It should be a midseason return. ABC has tried to kill this show for years. IT is a good show and they want it gone. Disney keeps it alive and should move it to another network like fox who they are buying.

It's been hit or miss since the beginning. I can't say I like the format since they changed to two major storylines per season. If you don't like a storyline you're have to wait 10 or so more episodes until it changes. I guess it's closer to what goes on in comic books, but it doesn't serve well on TV, or at least not the way they're doing it.
Relationships between the major characters just seem to go round and round without ever going anywhere.

I'm pleasantly surprised that this show has been renewed, considering the Friday night time slot and the current storyline with Coulson. But it will be a long wait :(

Damn so the show is coming back in the summer of 2019 which means the episode count will be considerably lower I just hope they go all out with the storyline and writing because it looks like this could be the last season.

Shit i missed the return date as well, Coming out after the next Avengers Movie is a great sign for building a stronger connection to the MCU. Makes up for the reduced ep count easily. Lets hope the show runner continue to deliver.
