No Season 4 for the medical drama.
May 24, 2018
It looks like the current season of Code Black will be its last, as CBS has opted not to bring the medical drama back for Season 4. Word came from showrunner Michael Seitzman, who broke the sad news to his Twitter followers overnight.
The decision to cancel the series comes four episodes into the current third season, which premiered in April as a mid-season entry. The show was previously on the network's regular fall schedule for its first two seasons, but never really found a sizeable audience. Both of its past renewals came as last-minute decisions, but it looks like the network already knows what it wants to do this time around.
Inspired by an award-winning documentary, Code Black takes place in the busiest emergency room in the country. The term refers to when there are more patients than personnel or resources to treat them all, which occurs an alarming 300 days a year. The outstanding staff of this notoriously overcrowded and understaffed ER work to protect their patients and their ideals by confronting a challenged system that pushes them to their limits.

CBS, why do you keep cancelling all the good shows?? I'd like to echo everyone else's opinion here that Code Black was a terrific show--and yet you decide to keep the stupid reality junk like Survivor and dump this one?? Do you so-called "experts" even know what you're doing?? Code Black was one of my favorite dramas--and my Mom's too! I hope another network revives it.

It's sad, but reality shows rule the TV schedule. Shows that actually have good plots are the ones that get cancelled.

CBS fails again... Why can’t they realize TV viewing habits have changed. This moving shows from a regular run fall program to a late start spring summer show doesn’t help fans find shows. Hey you have the shows produced. Make them available! Why hold on to them to schedule when it’s convenient to you/the network? Let me guess because that’s the way it has always been done. Look around overall TV viewing is down. Binge viewing is here to stay. Let Neilsen figure out how to rate it and let’s all move on plz! You want us to ise your online access so why not make the shows available there at our convenience. Let us pick what and when we watch that would give you the most accurate stats of what viewers want. Not what we are lucky enough to catch. BTW I thought I saw somewhere on this site ABC co produces Code Black could they pick it up? Also, does a Rob Lowe curse really exist?

I just hope it doesn't end on a cliffhanger. I might have to hold off watching the rest of the episodes until I find out, because that would suck!
