The pickup will see the anthology series through 2020.
August 3, 2018
FX has confirmed that a tenth season has been ordered for American Horror Story. The pickup is an early one, as the anthology series - already renewed through Season 9 - has yet to return for Season 8.
Co-created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, the veteran series continues to captivate audiences, though some installments have been met with decidedly mixed reviews. Still, the franchise remains one of the cable network's top performers and is usually in the conversation come awards season.
Production is currently underway on Season 8 of American Horror Story, which is slated to premiere on September 12. Titled Apocalypse, the upcoming season will feature a crossover of past installments Murder House and Coven.
The show is expected to keep its one-season-per-year schedule going forward, with Season 9 expected in 2019 and Season 10 in 2020.

I can't believe this show was picked up through 2020. I barely made it through this season! This show has become boring, predictable and downright stupid. Keep the witches and ditch the rest! Such a waste of talent!

Once again AHS disappoints. Now they're adding more and more to the PC train. It's worse this time. Boring and predictable. The BS started with Roanoke and went downhill. Not worth my time.

Anyone figure out what the purpose of the green smoke billowing truck was last season? Or what was the secret stash in the garage across the street?

I love this show but the DUMBEST thing they could have possibly done was to kill off Twisty. AND so early at that. Had they played things right, Twisty would have gone down as one of the biggest cult favorite clowns (even more so than he already is) in the horror scene, rivaling Pennywise, and any other top scary clown you can think of. But noooo. They had to go and kill him off.

Coven was my favorite season followed by Roanoke. I couldn't hardly watch last season due to many reasons (one being the lack of Emma Roberts). It was totally dreadful. Hopefully it will be a good balance this season.

This show is always good. And different each season. Perhaps twisty the clown can come back from the dead in one of the new seasons.
