Netflix had a fitting announcement for Halloween today, confirming that Castlevania has been renewed for a third season. Based on the legendary video game franchise, the animated drama returned for its much-anticipated sophomore run last Friday. If early reviews are any indication, fans of Season 1 should be pleased this time around as well.
The series is a dark, medieval fantasy that chronicles the journey of the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan fighting to save a besieged Eastern European city from extinction at the hand of Dracula and his army of otherworldly beasts.
Fans will surely be happy to hear that 10 episodes have been ordered for Season 3 of Castlevania, up from the four and eight it received in Seasons 1 and 2 respectively. There is no word if the increased episode count will affect its release scheduling, but a late-2019 time frame appears likely.
Your response to season 2 truly brings a bloody tear to this ancient vampire's eye. On this All Hallows' Eve, it's my honor to officially announce season 3! Without you, this never could have happened! #Castlevania— Adrian Fahrenheit Ţepeş (@Castlevania) October 31, 2018
