The comedy extends its sophomore run.

It is being reported that ABC has topped up the second season of Splitting Up Together, ordering five more episodes of the comedy to bring its sophomore total to 18. The good news comes three episodes into its Season 2 run.
The sitcom premiered back in March as a mid-season entry with an eight episode debut outing. After a solid performance in the spring, the network opted to move the show into its regular fall lineup for the 2018-2019 season. Airing behind Black-ish on Tuesday nights at 9:30pm, ratings so far have been decent for its time slot.
Splitting Up Together follows Martin and Lena, a couple once in love and happily married. But as time wore on they drifted apart, eventually divorcing but keeping their house to co-parent their three kids. But as Lena starts dating, Martin realizes the part he played in their failed marriage and starts making an effort to atone for his missteps.

@Chris.. I saw that episode and it made sense in THAT EPISODE.... but to do it all the way into season 2??? Come on! They are "beating a dead horse" and it's not funny or amusing... much like this show overall.

I liked the first few seconds of this show. But as time wore on it drifted apart, eventually becoming stale but keeping the quality style to the show. But as Lena starts dating, I realized the part the storyline played in the failed show and started making an effort to avoid it.

Not a bad show. Not the greatest or the worst. Just somewhere in the middle. I'll keep watching.
@heywood If you don't know why they use Lisa Apple's full name then you don't understand the show.

This show is not relatable in every way. I like the actors, but the premise is horribly flawed.. and WHY ON EARTH do they ALWAY USE "Lisa Apple". Who goes around pronouncing the full name of someone every time they mention them? It's not like there's another "Lisa" on the show. Why do I know Lisa's surname when I don't know ANY other character's surname??? -- just not relatable.
