The comedy will return for Season 2.
January 25, 2019
CBS announced today that The Neighborhood has been picked up for a second season. The early good news comes in the midst of the comedy's freshman run.
The new series premiered last fall as part of the network's 2018-2019 lineup. After a strong first few weeks, the network wasted no time in topping up its initial 13-episode run with a back-nine order for a full season's worth of 22.
Airing Monday nights at 8:00pm, the half-hour series has held its own in the ratings department since its early October debut. Episodes are regularly the top-rated scripted entry in the time slot.
The Neighborhood follows a friendly Midwest family who has just moved in to a tough Los Angeles neighborhood, but not all of its residents appreciate their neighborly ways. Their new neighbor Calvin, played by Cedric the Entertainer, is particularly caught off-guard, worrying that his new neighbors will disrupt the culture on the block.

I LOVE this show, but I was a little nervous since I have seen some less then positive reviews. The show is perfectly cast. It is the first time I have enjoyed Max Greenfield in a role.
I really hope viewers will give this show a chance if they haven't already. The male-male relationship is perfectly balanced by the female-female relationship. And whoever chose the name Grover Johnson for the white boy chose perfectly!
I'm already looking forward to another season.

I LOVE this show and my blended group of friend love it too. I did not care for Happy Together and was not shocked that it got canceled.

Personally, I am surprised the show is doing as well as it is. I was not impressed. Didn't care for Happy Together either.

Honestly very surprised this got renewed. It isn't the greatest but it's a good time waster. I enjoyed Happy Together much more than this so hopefully...but mostly not... it gets renewed too.

I like how this show offends the sensitive people while still being a decent sitcom. lol
