CBS announced today that The Neighborhood has been renewed for a sixth season. Coming midway through Season 5, the news ensures the comedy will be back for the 2023-2024 television season.
Since premiering in 2018, the show has become one of broadcast TV's most-watched comedies. After tonight's new episode, it will be just six away from reaching the 100-episode milestone.
"The Neighborhood has become a hit by not only delivering laughs but by telling stories of cultural impact," said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. "From gentrification to Black Lives Matter, to addiction and pregnancy loss, the incredible writers and this amazing cast push boundaries and endlessly entertain us. As they film their 100th episode this week, directed by Cedric the Entertainer, we are thrilled to announce that we are welcoming this outstanding series back for a sixth season."
The Neighborhood follows a friendly Midwest family who has moved into a tough Los Angeles neighborhood, but not all of its residents appreciate their neighborly ways. Their neighbor Calvin, played by Cedric the Entertainer, is particularly caught off-guard, worrying that his new neighbors will disrupt the culture on the block.
Look for Season 6 of The Neighborhood this fall.

It's a traditional sitcom. That's it, that's all. There's nothing political about it. 30-040 years ago it could've had the same people in the cast and no one would've cared. :)
