The veteran comedy will end in 2026.
March 10, 2025
CBS announced today that The Neighborhood has been renewed for an eighth and final season that will air during the 2025-2026 broadcast season. The news comes with seven episodes remaining in the comedy's seventh season.
"The brilliant cast and creative team at The Neighborhood led by the incomparable Cedric the Entertainer have brought levity, laughter and poignant storylines to Monday nights for seven incredible seasons," said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. "The Neighborhood is a strong ratings performer for CBS and one of the top comedies on TV. We believe the show's loyal fans deserve a proper farewell season full of the trademark humor and heartfelt moments that are synonymous with the series."
The Neighborhood follows a friendly Midwest family who has moved into a tough Los Angeles neighborhood, but not all of its residents appreciate their neighborly ways. Their neighbor Calvin, played by Cedric the Entertainer, is particularly caught off-guard, worrying that his new neighbors will disrupt the culture on the block.

.. the REALITY is... 4 season was plenty...
The first 4 seasons were a decent 22 minutes of brain-dead entertainment and were more about exposing differences between the couples, in a non-racial manner... (ex. the washcloth for Gemma in the shower)....
After season 4 they started preaching and trying so hard to "teach wokism" because they ran out of ideas....

I still enjoy the show (Thank you for limiting that annoying Grover's role this season!!!)
The other characters are great, and I'm happy they'll have an entire season to wrap things up, but I gotta say ... a Marty and Malcolm spin-off would be IDEAL!!! The others could pop in occasionally (not Grover!!)

I enjoyed the show, but I thought they jumped the shark when he sold his business and they came into money. Its been hit or miss since. I found myself watching it now and again instead of each week. I am glad they will have a chance to wrap it up with one more season.

I enjoy this show, but maybe it has run it"s course. Sorry to see it go, but I will survive. CBS is dumping everything. I am going to start the Add/drop system with Paramount +. Order it for a month or 2, watch full seasons after they air then dump the channel again. P.S. Most shows on Paramount+, CBS, etc. end up on DVD and Blu-ray a few months after they are broadcast. Borrow them for free at libraries.
