The Roseanne spin-off will return for Season 2.
March 22, 2019
ABC announced today that The Conners will be returning for a second season. The good news, which comes just one day after reports of the comedy's primary stars inking new deals to return, was posted on the show's official Twitter account confirming the pickup.
The renewal was expected, as the show has been a solid performer for the network. Its 11-episode freshman run averaged just under 10 million total viewers and performed well enough in the adults 18-49 demographic to rank it as last season's top new comedy and ABC's #1 overall comedy.
A spin-off of Roseanne, which had its time on the air cut short due to controversy surrounding its star, The Conners continues to follow the lives of the titular family, albeit without its matriarch. The story picks up after a sudden turn of events alters their landscape forever. Forced to continue living their daily working-class lives in Lanford in a completely new way, Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky, and D.J. tackle everything from parenthood and financial pressure to dating and unexpected pregnancy.
Look for Season 2 of The Conners this fall.

This is not as funny as the version with Rossanne. Who just keeps spouting off crap making sure her career is dead. But in spite of that , considering how slimy gang rap crap is allowed to get away with saying killing black people is ok ,and it's seen as acceptable, I would have kept her. Saying , she doesn't say that on air does she?. Oh well. Still this show is actually progressive in nature imo and that's not a bad thing here.

I tried looking into your rant but when I searched 'evil things' I got to many links to stories about the right wing criminal convictions for election fraud, tax fraud, obstruction of justice, hacking, lying under oath, identity theft, and more. If I can make it past these news stories I will keep looking into how the plot of a tv show is ruining the world.

As someone who has never watched Roseanne, it's not a bad show! Not great, for sure, but certainly not awful. Then again, maybe that's because I don't try to compare it to what Roseanne was.

Of course they're gonna make abortion the "right" to do...it's part of the agenda .Hollywood is a satanic baby eating blood drinking pedo-fested craphole. It still watch a few things...but it's different since I became aware of all the sick things happening in this evil world that hind behind lies and fake or exaggerate events. Unfortunately even the few "Celebs" are probably involved or aware of these thing...born into it.Screw the leftist ..Imean Conners...one-sided views.Wake up! Don't trust them. That's my rant for today maybe some will look into what I said instead of instantly bashing it.

watched the first episode - deleted series! Just was not the same as with Roseann! Darlene seems very entitled and disrespectful to all around her in the show and real life

The cross dressing kid angle was stupid . I'd give it a zero of possible, unfortunately I had to give it a 1.

I think you got your ratings wrong... that was the re-boot of Roseanne that had such fantastic ratings. The Conners has been on a steady decline. Maybe S2 will be the end. I really tried to watch this w/o Roseanne -- but the end for me was "Tangled Up in Blue" -- when Darlene's daughter (Harris) gets the abortion pill after her night over with her Dad's new G/F named Blue". Darlene and Harris acts like it is the "responsible" thing to do....just terrible!! Behind the scenes, you also have to realize most of these actors owe so much to Roseanne Barr (IRL), but they won't give her the benefit of the doubt over a racist tweet. Sad, because I like John Goodman.

kim you do know it was the 2nd highest rated show on abc behind only greys anatomy right? in the 18-49 demo at least. Its a good show besides the annoying gay crossdressing son

Surprising. The initial 11 weren't "bad" but they also weren't terribly funny and I suspect much viewing was to see how they'd handle things without the catalyst for the show present. I think it would have been WAY funnier to have Rosanne in prison for selling Oxy - then after a season, they could have eluded to her being "shanked" or something. Anyway.. I'll probably watch because well it's not complete garbage and I do like Goodman and the Becky storyline. However, it'll never reach "must see" status here as long as they focus so much on the Darlene storyline - she, and everyone involved with here just aren't "likable" characters to me.
