CBS announced today that Magnum P.I. has been picked up for a third season. The good news comes two days ahead of the drama's sophomore finale, which airs on May 8 with back-to-back episodes.
The updated take on the 80s classic series premiered in 2018 and has become a decent performer for the network on Friday nights.
Magnum P.I. follows security consultant Thomas Magnum, who works as a private investigator in Hawaii making a name for himself by taking cases nobody else will. Along with help from a team of fellow vets, Magnum utilizes his military skills to make a name for himself while on all sorts of sun-drenched adventures.

Love the show. Great cast and chemistry. So glad it was renewed. Did like it more on Monday but glad it was renewed just the same

I'm glad to see this one renewed. Sometimes the one-dimensional nature of Magnum gets on my nerves, but the relationship between him and Higgins saves the show.
I was a little worried that with the cancellation of "Hawaii Five-0" CBS might save the expense of producing in Hawaii by also cancelling "Magnum". Thank goodness it didn't happen!

I am so happy this and Macgyver got renewed, would love to see a crossover. Also hope Magnum and Higgins get together, and Mac and Riley,
