The action drama reboot will be back for Season 2.
January 25, 2019
CBS announced today that Magnum P.I. has been renewed for a second season. The early pickup comes in the midst of the action drama's freshman run.
The updated take on the 80s classic series premiered last fall as part of the network's 2018-2019 lineup. It was only a few weeks later that its episode count was topped up to a full season's worth. The show has been drawing decent viewership, though it hasn't been a standout in either ratings or reviews.
Magnum P.I. follows security consultant Thomas Magnum, who works as a private investigator in Hawaii making a name for himself by taking cases nobody else will. Along with help from a team of fellow vets, Magnum utilizes his military skills to make a name for himself while on all sorts of sun-drenched adventures.

Really? I watched the first two episodes of the reboot, then turned it off forever. It was just lame, there is only 1 Magnum PI and that is Tom Selleck.

PLEASE keep Magnum going. It's a good family entertainment with stunning locations and a good looking guy (for the wife) and an absolutely stunning beautiful girl (for me). Perdita Weeks is great playing Higgins and the chemistry between the two just keeps building up. It would be great to see these pair up together like Moonlighting with Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd. Hawaii is my favourite place to go, and I've been lucky enough to go there three times. Mahalo for the show and Aloha. TC England.

My kids ( teens) love the show - I watched the original & I really enjoy the new show just as much - I think the acting ( Hernandez, Weeks, Knight, Hill) has been excellent.... but the writing has been poor. Please get these guys ( and gal ) a script to work with !! but most of all I hope they keep the show going .

The more episodes I've watched Magnum PI with actor Ray Hernandez the more I've enjoyed the first season's episodes. I appreciate the differences from the original show & also the similarities to make this show fun to watch.
I hope Magnum PI lasts as long or longer then it's original. I like the mix of fun and seriousness particularly when we're shown flashbacks of their armed services time. Good job. Keep it up! Thank you for not canceling this show.

Love the scenes especially the aerial ones. I do have a problem with the characters though, Magnum is OK, but doesn't Rick (Kameamea Club Manager?) TC, Charter helicopter business have jobs, how do they make a living? there is no depth in their characters ? These guys seem to be working for Magnum for FREE as Jr. PI's ? Higgins, though gorgeous, has no depth at all as a Brit, no tradition, no contact with Robin (who appears to not exist at all !), I mean, what does she actually do all day, doesn't even feed the dogs or keep Magnum out of the wine cellar, if there is one ? The show is very shallow but I'll still watch it !

It's been watchable, but they really need to do something with the relationship between Magnum and Higgins. It's clear she's falling for him but you can't string people along for seasons like this. That was always the danger of making Higgins a woman about Magnum's age.

If this gets renewed so that the network can cancel Hawaii five0, I'm going to be pissed!

I was REALLY surprised about this reboot. It is very well done. Not too over the top, too corny, or crappy special effects. Hell....if Hawaii Five-0 can run 35 seasons, why can't this? I see it going at least 5 seasons.

I really like this show and very glad to hear it got another season.. I am looking forward to the cross over with Hawaii Five O because you know it's coming with some characters already appearing on both.
