The action drama is coming back for Seasons 5 and 6.
June 30, 2022
It is being reported by Deadline that Magnum P.I. has been revived by NBC. The news comes just over a month after the action drama was cancelled by original network CBS after four seasons. The pickup is said to be for a total of 20 episodes that will air over the span of two seasons, serving as Seasons 5 & 6.
The updated take on the 1980s classic series premiered in 2018 and was a decent performer on Friday nights over the course of its run. The show aired a total of 76 episodes before it was cancelled less than a week after its final episode on CBS.
Magnum P.I. follows security consultant Thomas Magnum, who works as a private investigator in Hawaii making a name for himself by taking cases nobody else will. Along with help from a team of fellow vets, Magnum utilizes his military skills to make a name for himself while on all sorts of sun-drenched adventures.

Glad to see this coming back on. My mom first got into watching it this past season along with bloodbloods my mom really was disapointed that it had gotten cancelled. I did see one time that there was talks hoping another network was gonna pick it up and that is what my mom last knew it was at. Sadly my mom died of a heart attack on June 25th days before the announcement that it was revived so she didnt get to know that. I will make sure to watch it as she loved it.

Chalk up a sorely needed plus for NBC after cancelling "Mr. Mayor".

I suppose I'll be re-setting it back up on my X1 Xfinity and DirecTV boxes.

Many shows are only ten to thirteen episodes these days. Shows are expensive to produce. So just be glad you got your show back.

The cancellation was never about viewership or performance, it was strictly about the money. I wonder how NBC was able to make it work. Whatever happened, thank you, thank you, thank you!
