The animated comedy will be back in 2020-2021.
May 8, 2020
Fox has quietly renewed Family Guy for a 19th season. The pickup was mentioned this week by CEO Lachlan Murdoch during an earnings call. The good news comes as the animated comedy winds down on Season 18, which will air its finale on May 17.
Created by Seth MacFarlane, Family Guy debuted in 1999 with little fanfare. The show initially struggled to find a consistent audience, moving from one time slot to another, and was actually cancelled after Season 3. When DVD sales and syndication ratings exceeded expectations, Fox revived the series in what turned out to be a smart move.
Since coming back, the show has gone on to become a fixture in pop culture, winning numerous awards and amassing a legion of loyal fans. Now one of TV's longest-running shows, Family Guy will surpass 350 episodes next season.
Look for Family Guy to return for Season 19 this fall as part of Fox's 2020-2021 schedule.

These are rough times for everyone. Family guy is my go to show to erase the news of the day. I truly hope they continue in a sensitive way to the worlds everyday trauma, it gives me something to look forward to

@Mikey technically Fox did cancel Family Guy twice, but you're right, they won't cancel it again.
@Brenda, how did they get King of the Hill canceled? The Plopster has never heard of this, and King of the Hill is actually probably coming back in the next few years but with aged characters (Bobby in his 30s, Hank older, etc).

Sigh. With Covid Affecting filming and the ease of voice acting, we’re only going to see more animated shows in the fall on top of these shows that are well beyond their expiry dates.

Face it, FOX isn't about to make the same mistake by cancelling this show for the second time. It'll keep being renewed as long as Seth is willing.

Great news !!! P. S. I do not watch NCIS or FBI or Greys Anatomy, but I do not shit on people who enjoy them. If you do not like Family guy, DON'T WATCH IT !!! Pretty simple.

Feeling down about yourself? No problem! Just come to the comments section of a successful show getting renewed and you'll see a much more pathetic crop of people than you bashing the show because THAT somehow makes them feel better. Almost nothing but douchebags left in these comment sections so you should immediately feel a little better about yourself, or at the very least a step above them.
