The animated comedy will return this fall.
February 12, 2019
It is being reported that Fox has picked up Family Guy for an 18th season. The renewal will see the animated comedy reach 21 years on the air - a feat rarely accomplished by a television series.
Created by Seth MacFarlane before he was a household name, Family Guy debuted in 1999 without much fanfare. The show struggled to find a consistent audience, being moved from one time slot to another, and was actually cancelled after Season 3. But when DVD sales and syndication ratings exceeded expectations, Fox decided to revive the series.
And what a revival it turned out to be. Since coming back it has gone on to become a fixture in pop culture, winning numerous awards and amassing a legion of loyal fans. Now one of TV's longest-running shows, Family Guy currently sits at 321 episodes.
Look for Family Guy to return this fall as part of the network's 2019-2020 schedule.

You know Pete, they canned family guy but the public liked enough to follow it syndication so they brought it back. They canned cleveland show but the public did not follow it to syndication. The network might just be listening to the public.

Like "The Simpsons", this show has been in a quality state of decline for years yet keeps getting renewed. I'm thinking money has something to do with this. Seth MacFarlane's other show "The Orville" is a better choice than "Family Guy".

Take your opinion elsewhere, you deliberately went out your way to bash a show you don't like. Just because you're entitled to your opinion does not also mean you can shove it down peoples throats. You don't like it, fine. We don't need to hear about it.
