The veteran comedy will not return for Season 6.
May 14, 2021
Word is out that ABC has cancelled American Housewife after five seasons. The sad news comes roughly six weeks after the veteran comedy wrapped its run, with its March 31 episode now serving as its series ender.
The half-hour show stars Katy Mixon as an average wife and mother who is bringing up her family in the upper-class town of Westport, Connecticut. It premiered in 2016 and ended up becoming ABC's top-rated new comedy of the season.
The network moved the show to a few different time slots over the years, but it found a home on Wednesday nights since Season 4. Overall it was a fairly consistent performer during its time on the air, and recently surpassed the 100-episode milestone.
Sorry to say that #AmericanHousewife will not be returning for another season

I want to deeply thank them for forever sparing me another 21 to 23 minutes of hearing Katie Mixon's whiny voice. This show was awful at season 1 and has lasted far too long.
