No Season 4 for the plane mystery drama.
June 14, 2021
It is being reported that NBC has cancelled Manifest after three seasons. The sad news comes just days after the mystery drama aired its now-final episode, which ended on a cliffhanger and, unfortunately for fans, left the show's main ongoing plotline unresolved.
The network's decision to end the series does not come as a complete surprise. Ratings have fallen off in the last couple of seasons, and it was on the bubble for renewal last year at this time as well. There had been hope for a possible Season 4, though, after the show shot to the top of the Netflix charts after its recent debut on the streaming service, but it appears its performance there did not do much to change any minds.
Shortly after the news broke, series creator Jeff Rake took to Twitter to express his disappointment that the show was axed halfway through his planned six-season arc. He thanked the fans, saying they deserve a proper ending, and also stated his intent to find a new home for the series.
Manifest follows the passengers and crew of Montego Air Flight 828, which recently landed safely after being reported missing five years ago. To those aboard, though, it was just a typical flight with a bit of turbulence. With the returned passengers and crew back home, they now face a new reality with a second chance. But a deeper mystery starts to unfold as some of the returned realize they could be meant for something greater.

I liked season one, but got lost in season 2. Still haven't watched season 3... and since it's cancelled, I don't see a reason to watch it. At this point in time, I don't watch any shows on NBC because they always get cancelled before they go anywhere! NBC has a really big problem. They think they're still a major network and demand a show to top 10 million viewers. Soon as it drops below, it gets shuffled to a Friday to Sunday slot- or streamed - where it is eventually dies a slow, painful death of mismanagement and poor (cheap) writing.

This is crap. Why cancel this? It's a great show. What another reality show? Another stupid game show? Come on NBC bring this back

I tried to resume watching this season, but didn't know what the heck was going on. I stopped watching then, too muddled and confusing...how do people remember all these sub plots after so much time off the air? I'm sure they'll replace it with another crappy show soon hehe.

Not surprised, I never finished season 1. But I do feel bad for the folks that watched and enjoyed it to not get a closing.

Wow lasted a lot longer than I thought it would. Figured out after the first commercial for it that it would be a show that would ask questions just so it could never answer them and would NEVER EVER have a satisfying conclusion. Don't blame NBC for not giving it a chance to answer it questions, it was obviously never going to.

3 seasons is not a failure for any show. Especially a sci fi show. Few make it that long. Horror does even worse. However the critically acclaimed and bloody 'creepshow' on shudder is doing well. and the expanse got three seasons! lucifer got two with a ending for a total of five. This show is shopping for a new platform. That's a hard sell though. for every lucifer , last kingdom and the expanse that gets onto streaming networks tons get not a chance. So like so many sci fi shows and even others like the glades on a and e back in the teens , you get stuck with a cliffhanger. And obviously to get to 3 seasons this show did very well for sci fi. Regardless of those who do not like it. But at least zoo and under the dome gave us a a ending at three seasons. the mermaid show on freeform got to three as well but did a cliffhanger , stitchers, so many good sci fi shows just have no chance. I would say the great netflix show , lost in space which got three great seasons and will have a proper ending is worth any ones attention though. check it out. season 3 is out this year.

Nothing like an airplane disaster show. But this one went nowhere.
Sorry, Dick. You could’ve done better.
