No Season 4 for the plane mystery drama.
June 14, 2021
It is being reported that NBC has cancelled Manifest after three seasons. The sad news comes just days after the mystery drama aired its now-final episode, which ended on a cliffhanger and, unfortunately for fans, left the show's main ongoing plotline unresolved.
The network's decision to end the series does not come as a complete surprise. Ratings have fallen off in the last couple of seasons, and it was on the bubble for renewal last year at this time as well. There had been hope for a possible Season 4, though, after the show shot to the top of the Netflix charts after its recent debut on the streaming service, but it appears its performance there did not do much to change any minds.
Shortly after the news broke, series creator Jeff Rake took to Twitter to express his disappointment that the show was axed halfway through his planned six-season arc. He thanked the fans, saying they deserve a proper ending, and also stated his intent to find a new home for the series.
Manifest follows the passengers and crew of Montego Air Flight 828, which recently landed safely after being reported missing five years ago. To those aboard, though, it was just a typical flight with a bit of turbulence. With the returned passengers and crew back home, they now face a new reality with a second chance. But a deeper mystery starts to unfold as some of the returned realize they could be meant for something greater.

Agree with those who said first season was great but then it went nowhere. Season 3 just seemed to drag on with no direction in sight. But if it’s as popular as they say it is on Netflix then they might just get another season on the streaming service.

Noooooo! I wouldn't say it was good writing, but it was the only scripted show, besides a comedy here and there, that I watch on TV anymore. I love mystery shows and also shows that keep you guessing (as long as there's a plan). This is so disappointing. And of course they end on multiple cliffhangers.

I agree, should have seen this coming. Plot got off track with some of "the callings" and although the writers tried to circle back to the main plot line they also left too much story dangling in the ether. Writers should understand that what might be crystal clear in their minds might get muddied in the viewers. This causing loss of interest and ultimately disappointment to all.

This sucks. It should be illegal to end a series without making an end.

Atleast the females actresses can start a fans only page and go back to porn. This show is a career killer. It was terrible from the start .

Started off pretty good, season 2 was a struggle but did complete it. Started season 3 but it failed to hook me and I still have the last 8 episodes or so to watch or not. It wasn't as good as some other shows that got cancelled "early". Flash Forward and Joe Doe still make me mad.

@ Jenna
I'm not quite sure you understand how TV ratings work.

Not surprised but very disappointed. Really did feel the writing of the show went down hill. I was getting pretty sick of hearing 30+ times an episode "The Callings"... hope it gets picked up on another service and the writers concentrate more on what happened

I watched the first season and found it interesting. Season 2 came back and seemed lost like the show "Lost" and I gave up. If there truly was a 6 season intention then I hope they find a new home to finish up the story. If that happens I would probably go back and watch to see what really happened.

Unbelievable!! This sucks big time! How the hell they cancelled this show. This was a very good and excited show! The only thing that NBC has is more Law and Order.
