Amazon quickly orders more of the book-based drama.
February 7, 2022
Amazon announced today that Reacher has been renewed for a second season. The pickup is an early one, coming just three days after the drama's premiere on the Prime Video streaming service. The move makes sense, as the show appears to be generating a decent amount of buzz as well as high critical praise across the board.
Based on the books by Lee Child, the series follows former Army police corps major Jack Reacher, who roams the country as a drifter taking odd jobs and investigating suspicious situations. When he arrives in the town of Margrave, GA, Jack finds himself under arrest for the community's first homicide in decades. As he works to prove his innocence, a conspiracy emerges that leads to the town requiring Jack's help to get to the bottom of.

I enjoyed the movies, but the show really nailed it.
Glad it made it to season 2 - there were a few things in season one to nitpick over, but ultimately it didn't kill the story and didn't make it any less entertaining.

Ive not seen the movies before but I really liked this. I think some stories work better in a longer episodic format too as it gives more time to tell the story. I liked Alan Ritchson as Hawk in titans and definitely miss him there but this was a really good role for him. He really plays the whole no nonsense right to the point all the time type perfectly. Plus he comes off as pretty bad ass. I also really like Malcolm Goodwin. I saw him in iZombie and Breakout Kings and he was good in both. The back n forth with Reacher and him in this really works.
Willa needs to be in S2 too cause shes a real cutie.

I'll be sure to watch this show (based on what people have said here) if it ever escapes from the Amazon. One in a while I've had the trial Prime, but I've never indulged in any of their media which is what Bezos co. wants. They want you to get hooked.
I liked the movies but the second one was not strong. The goodness of it has nothing to do with Tom Cruise's lack of height and muscle even though I believe even the author went along with that critique. It was the story that wasn't super. Rock wouldn't have made any difference. And if I recall correctly, Cruise was in fantastic physical condition for at least the first movie - he bulked up - probably for both. He rarely looks small in movies like he is in life. Arnold Swartzenegger is short but you wouldn't know it in most films.

Was it 2009? Are you sure? Did you look it up? Thank you for clearing up the mess. I was at a store today and I had to use the restroom but the door said "Pat" on it which made me think of you. Thank YOU for the universal toilets. It would be a awful mess without them. How did we get by without your searing modesty.

Steve your post sucks. Patrick died in 2009. Rip. Reachers actor was excellent as the superhero hawk in the titans tv show in this he plays just like the books. Reacher hides his emotions and is a huge guy. The cruise movies were ok but they needed a big man for the role. That robot comment on another post never saw this actor as hawk evidently.

I liked the two movies, so I wasn't sure how to respond to the tv show. But it was better than the movie and the male actor do it quit well - a bit a robot a few times but a good show

@LB, Wow. Swayze's dead? No chit. Revelations never cease. You're on top of it. Next, I'll probably find out that smoking causes cancer. What the hay. Although I'd like to see Yul Brynner in this role. Little Rock.

Hope it stays as good in Season 2. Good quality show that deserves more episodes. Hopefully lots of people are watching.
