The Chuck Lorre comedy will return in 2023-2024.

CBS announced today that Bob Hearts Abishola has been renewed for a fifth season. The good news comes midway through its fourth season, which continues to rank as one of broadcast TV's most-watched comedies with an average of 5.99 million viewers in its Monday 8:30pm time slot.
From creator Chuck Lorre, the half-hour series follows a middle-aged man from Detroit who, after a heart attack lands him in the hospital, unexpectedly falls for his cardiac nurse, who is a Nigerian immigrant.
Look for Season 5 of Bob Hearts Abishola this fall as part of the 2023-2024 season.

wow. I'm glad everyone focused on his weight loss. Not the boring, overused premise of 'i have the hots for someone who wore scrubbs.'
Nurse fantasy for one I suppose. (Nurses stopped being hot after NoES III: the dream warriors.)
Luckily I can't ever find this show cause it uses a symbol in the title. Some of my search screens don't even have asterisk. I bet they hit the heart symbol next to 'any button.'
He loved molly, he can't move on dang it. Stop messing with the sitcom universe.

Interesting to hear that Billy Gardell lost his hefty charm. He was already paired with thin women - health reasons makes sense. I've never seen this show so I'll have to watch a few minutes.

Thanks for the replies Geeky and Trevor. To me he looks very weird after the weight loss but as long as he is healthier now that's all that matters. I was actually concerned.

Apparently the actor (Billy Gardell) had bariatric surgery and he's having a lot of success with his weight loss program.

I tried to watch this a few times, but it’s not my cup of tea so I turn the channel after The Neighborhood. I’m glad The Neighborhood was renewed

@Plop It's the same actor who was on Mike and Molly. I think he's lost quite a bit of weight. I'm not sure if it was surgery or not. All I know is I'm happy to hear that it got renewed.

I only ever catch the end of this show before NCIS starts so my question is did they get a new guy to play Bob or did he have very awkward weight loss surgery?
