CBS announced today that Bob Hearts Abishola has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes less than a month after the show ended its freshman run, which performed well for the network as its top new comedy of the season.
The half-hour series is the latest offering from creator Chuck Lorre. It follows a middle-aged man from Detroit who, after a heart attack lands him in the hospital, unexpectedly falls for his cardiac nurse, who is a Nigerian immigrant.

I enjoy this show. I'm glad to see comedy from all perspectives. I read a blog post denigrating the show. My feeling is that if you don't like it don't watch.

I'm so so happy that Bob Hearts Abishola will be around for season 2. It's rare to see a program that's not only funny but also clean. Thanks and I wish the series will be around for a long time

Wow Thomas is right this show is a copy paste change a little repeat show. You can like it but you can't resonably deny it is kinda generic. The format is like a lot of other shows.

Started off so well, it was definitely on our "must see" list. Clever exploration of the cultural/racial split without being stupid or offensive. Then it floundered in mid-season. Hard to put a finger on the reason, but it dropped to "worth watching". Pleased at the renewal, but not excited. Just...pleased.

I don't have to come with a new complaint if the networks aren't gonna give us a different show. The two both used the elements and none worked. It's as if CBS just doesn't care.

@Thomas- that is the exact same thing you said about Carol's Second Act. Couldn't you come up with a different complaint?
Besides which this is a hilarious show and I'm glad it's renewed.
