The veteran comedy will conclude its story in 2024.
November 29, 2023
CBS announced today that Bob Hearts Abishola will be coming to an end with its upcoming fifth season. The news arrives three months before the comedy returns for its now-final run, which will air between February and May 2024.
"We are so proud to call Bob Hearts Abishola a CBS comedy as it helped establish a new generation of programming at the Network," said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. "This series expertly showcased a family love story and workplace comedy about the immigrant experience with heartfelt humor and emotion while also authentically portraying Nigerian culture. It's a testament to the incomparable Chuck Lorre, the amazing creative team led by Al Higgins, Gina Yashere and Matt Ross, and the talents of Billy Gardell, Folake Olowofoyeku and the entire cast for making this show and its characters come to life and resonate with viewers. We plan to celebrate it this spring and give fans the most amazing episodes to remember it by."
The half-hour series follows a middle-aged man from Detroit who, after a heart attack lands him in the hospital, unexpectedly falls for his cardiac nurse, who is a Nigerian immigrant. Since its premiere in 2019, it has been a consistently strong performer for the network and one of the most-watched comedies on television.
Season 5 of Bob Hearts Abishola premieres on Monday, February 12 for a 13-episode final run that will conclude on May 13.

ANOTHER GREAT SNOW GONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
AT LEAST... they're actually ending it and it's not cancelled in the middle of the season. I have loved this show from the beginning. Mostly because Abishola is SO FREAKING PRETTY! lol Dele is growing up quite the handsome young man too and I'm proud of Bob's weightloss (I KNOW that's not their real names.. I just don't know them atm).
So... now that Young Sheldon is ending and Bob <3's abishola is ending that leaves me ONE comedy to watch: The Conners.
I'm glad I cancelled cable tv years ago. (and I'mglad I didn't see this announcement last year so I got to fully enjoy season 5 w/o knowing the end is looming near).

I don't know what it is about CBS. I can't decide if maybe they've decided to dump all their sitcoms or if maybe Chuck Lorre has decided to retire. Either way, all the Chuck Lorre sitcoms are being axed.
Bob Hearts Abishola was enjoyable, and certainly better than most of what is on broadcast TV today. I'll miss it.

Amy Risensuck who runs CBS wants to replace everything that costs money and show Big Brother and other reality shows that are CHEAP!!! I would love her if I was a CBS executive. More money, more money, more money. Quality be damned. The worst part is I do not love this show, but the Neighborhood will be next. This clown canceled Blue Bloods, SWAT, and Seal Team. Hope the viewers do not like FBI night. That will be Celebrity FBI reality crap by fall 2024.

They need to do a spin off with Uncle Tunde and Auntie Olu - they are who made that show fun to watch!!!

Something other than comedy and quality kept this show on the air. I think everyone wanted it to be Mike and Black Molly - but Billy Gardell lost his mojo and Folake revealed absolutely no comedic chops. Other than Vernee Watson, and Barry Shabaka Henley - nobody in this cast was either endearing or even likable.

Fun show, not the greatest sitcom ever by far, but fun. Interesting it's only gotten a half season to finish up.

Moderately overweight guy falls in love with his caregiver.
