An origin series and a 'New Blood' follow-up are in the works.

Showtime has announced two new projects based within the Dexter universe. A straight-to-series order has been placed for 'Dexter: Origins' and a new version of 'Dexter: New Blood' is being developed.
The news does not come as a surprise considering that 2021's 'Dexter: New Blood' proved that audiences are still craving more of the serial killer drama after the limited series became the most-watched series in Showtime history.
'Dexter: Origins' will serve as a prequel series following a young Dexter Morgan at the outset of his transition into the avenging serial killer he would become. Set in the Miami that was a hotbed of real serial killers of his time, Dexter is about to join Miami Metro after graduating from college.
'Dexter: New Blood' will be a new incarnation of the 2021 drama focused on Dexter's son Harrison, who survived his tumultuous reintroduction with his father and flees to New York City where he must wrestle with his own violent nature and whether, like his father, he too is compelled to kill. The show is being described as a new version of 'New Blood' rather than a second season.

after seeing the reboot season, not interested in watching any spin offs, poorly ended in reboot, would have preferred it left the way it was years ago

New blood and origins will be too much alike, both will follow a young serial killer, one Dexter, one his son. They need to stick with new blood. Trinity sounds interesting though.

Let it go. Lets us all remember dexter as a great show and not this that will try to milk it and it will end badly. I won't be going near any of these as a prime example is supernatural and the way they tried to milk that by adding the winchesters and how that has flopped. Some tv series are better to be left alone.

WTH is "new version" of New Blood? This seems like a lazy way to bring Dexter back into the series after he was clearly killed off in New Blood v1, or they know that Dexter's son won't be able to carry the series by himself. This sounds very convoluted.
Anyway, I think I am done with the Dexter franchise. I liked his initial run (except the ending), I liked his return in New Blood (except the convoluted events of the last episode). I think I am done for now.
