The drama will not return for Season 7.
May 5, 2023
It is being reported that S.W.A.T. has been cancelled by CBS after six seasons. The news comes with two weeks left in the drama's now-final run, with its episode on May 19 set to serve as its series finale.
The cancellation is somewhat surprising, as the show has actually improved its linear viewership year over year significantly since it was moved to a Friday time slot. Along with 'Fire Country' and 'Blue Bloods,' it has made CBS the place to be for Friday night dramas. But unlike the other two, S.W.A.T. is not wholly owned by CBS.
Shemar Moore stars in the Los Angeles-based series, which follows a former Marine tasked with running a specialized tactical unit that acts as the city's last stop in law enforcement. Raised on the streets, he is torn between his loyalty to his roots and his allegiance to his new brothers in blue as he works to bridge the divide between his two worlds.

All these shows are expensive to make. You know what is cheap? The Price is Right at Night, Lingo, Big Brother, etc. We have to pay Paramount which owns CBS to watch Seal Team, 1883, 1923, Mayor of Kingstown and anything with Star Trek in the title. Network tv is slowly dying. See you in HELL CBS.

Best wishes for the cast & crew in their future endeavors.
Series-wise, for some reason, I'd lost interest a couple of seasons ago, yet I'd still end-up watching the episodes, but at some later date.
This entire TV industry must be so tough, for any cast/crew, to land a series, then keep the series getting renewed. Now there's also the regular broadcast networks; then there are the streaming-only-pay-to-view services.
As a mere viewer, I've slowly been cutting back and if the shows aren't on the regular broadcast or packaged in an affordable Xfinity HD bunch of channels, I'll likely not see the show.

I like SWAT, but apparently it’s very expensive to make.

Is this seriously for real? It's one of the top rated series on CBS. So many people watched this show! But yet some of the dumbest shows i've ever seen keep getting renewed on there but they let go a great series like SWAT!!! I'm absolutely shocked. This is so messed up. I can only hope and pray that some other network or a streaming service will save it in time!
