The drama will not return for Season 7.
May 5, 2023
It is being reported that S.W.A.T. has been cancelled by CBS after six seasons. The news comes with two weeks left in the drama's now-final run, with its episode on May 19 set to serve as its series finale.
The cancellation is somewhat surprising, as the show has actually improved its linear viewership year over year significantly since it was moved to a Friday time slot. Along with 'Fire Country' and 'Blue Bloods,' it has made CBS the place to be for Friday night dramas. But unlike the other two, S.W.A.T. is not wholly owned by CBS.
Shemar Moore stars in the Los Angeles-based series, which follows a former Marine tasked with running a specialized tactical unit that acts as the city's last stop in law enforcement. Raised on the streets, he is torn between his loyalty to his roots and his allegiance to his new brothers in blue as he works to bridge the divide between his two worlds.

This is a very bad decision by cbs. I am not going to watch any new shows from this network. Do we need multiple ncis and the fbi? the answer is no. BRING BACK SWAT

Dull and repetitive storylines along with actors going through the motions. This can't surprise anyone.

Got real tired real fast
With the THROW-UPLE indoctrination.
And the poor me, poor me because I'm black. So poor me I'm the leader of an elite task force in one of the largest police forces in the world.
And while we're at it, lets NOT show all the drugged up homeless people, like they don't exist in droves. And the rampant crime, and letting criminals walk.
Fiction indeed,

No surprise, the big corporations just don't care and don't even try anymore. Some old person on an ego trip thinks that they can keep replacing shows for something cheaper and everyone will just watch whatever new show they come up with. Also they don't care about viewers, just the demographic, the demographic has been the leading reason for decline in the past ten + years. They will cancel a show with high ratings if it doesn't hit the demographic because the greedy corporations advertising have told them that anyone over a certain age is too old to buy new products and won't pay as much.

I don't understand why they don't move it to Paramount+ like they did Seal Team. Here's hoping another network or streaming service steps up to continue to produce new episodes, or viewers rally and protest, and petition as they did for other canceled shows that are then brought back.

After further thought of canceling S.W.A.T I guess I will be canceling you. This show was our family time and we are over 50 years old and our daughter is 17 and she enjoyed sitting with us as a family to watch this so we will figure out how to watch something else as a family because you only care about money.

Too formulaic; virtually the same over and over.

It is time for me to admit I do not understand the television network business. Why would a company cancel a top rests show? If the audience watches, then advertisers should be happy. Have you ever scrolled through the humongous menu of of innocuous, unknown programs carried by the network? Who is watching this dribble? I don’t understand. S.W.A.T. should not be cancelled.

It had its run but the world has passed it by. Broadcast TV is dead. Only cheap reality shows and a few retread sitcoms will survive on broadcast TV.

Maybe a factory this show has been cancelled is the cost plus there’s too many shows being filmed in LA. You’ve got both Rookies and 9-1-1 shows and SEAL TEAM also gets filmed in LA not to mention films as well. Didn’t actually watch this show. Couldn’t get into it.
