The new cop drama will premiere next season.
February 18, 2025
The Blue Bloods universe is expanding. CBS announced today that a straight-to-series order has been given for a new drama starring Donnie Wahlberg for the 2025-2026 broadcast season.
Tentatively titled 'Boston Blue,' the series will see Wahlberg reprise his role as NYPD officer Danny Reagan as he takes a position with the Boston PD. His new job will pair him with detective Lena Peters, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.
The spin-off order makes sense, as Blue Bloods had a long and successful run on the network that lasted 14 years. A Friday night staple, it garnered healthy ratings that consistently made it the night's #1 primetime program. In all, it aired 293 episodes.

Compared to all the crap that's on the air, it'll probably fit right in, I mean Wahlberg is a pretty cool guy.

Agree with Charlie! The reason that “Blue Bloods” was so successful was because of the WHOLE cast, not just Danny. When I saw your headline I was really excited - then I read the premise. Sounds truly stupid!!!!

You have got to be kidding me. CBS could have made a Danny series still set in New York with his partner Biaz. I always liked Donnie Wahlberg, but he just sold out. I was a huge Blue Bloods fan and I will not be watching. Anyone remember Hill Street Blues and Beverly Hills Buntz? How did that work out? P.S. F@#K YOU Amy!

This just sounds dumb. I do not see it working at all. Who would believe this would really happen. You could make a cop show in Boston, but not based on Blue Bloods. You have to think these people doing stuff like this have no good ideas.

Or maybe they should have just kept going as it seems the entire cast wanted to keep going
