A drama following a multi-generational family of New York City cops.

Frank Reagan is the Police Commissioner of New York and head of the Reagan clan. He tries to run his department in the same diplomatic manner he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his father during his stint as Chief.

Frank's eldest son Danny is a seasoned detective and family man who, at times, uses dubious tactics to investigate his cases. The sole female in the family is Erin, an Assistant District Attorney and newly single mother, who also serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father.

We love the TV show...But both my wife and I have trouble understanding the dialogue due to the background music or whatever noise there is behind their voices...Their voices somehow seem muffelled and not clear as say the voices on the commercials...We donot seem to have that problem on other TV shows we watch..Are we wrong???Please explain if possible..We are avid wiewers, thank you..R Ryan

Franks management style reminds me of Furillo [Daniel J. Travanti] from Hill Street Blues, the greatest Police Show ever. Blue Bloods (#2 ever)
Lets develop Nicky, Jack and Shawn this season. They have shown their abilities - so give them a little more to do than eat. (Each has had some good scenes especially Sami) and keep the old guy active too. Lew has held his own.
Bring in Lew's nephews, Liam Colm Reagan (MBA with 11 yo daughter, joining the Police Dept and his younger brother, Kieran Evan Regan who also has an 11 yo which Liam is raising because Kieran is fighting an addiction problem.
Is Nicky going to join the police department?
When is Frank going to retire?
lets get Jaime promoted - He is overdue.
The next Commissioner will promote Will Estes up to Chief after he continues his college with a Masters in management and winds up supervising Danny who is slowing down.
Jack and Shawn should be rookies by then.
This show is good for another 12 years.

Please keep Blue Bloods. There are so few TV shows of this caliber. No bad language or racy sex. It's nice to see the family sit down together and talk over dinner. It's also interesting to see the adult sibling rivalry and how they handle it. I congratulate CBS for selecting such an excellent cast. It would be great to see it continued.

please do NOT cancel show.. I think more shows like Blue Bloods should show family values. there are many people out there that needs to see good family values. I'm not of same faith as them but do appreciate the show writers. If more shows wrote with family values and trust in God, maybe real life families would decide to practice more good quality values.

Danny, Tom Selleck turned 70 on January 29th he's well old enough for these kids ages to make sense. Secondly this show is less about Catholicism and more about family. The Sunday Family Dinner may start with grace and a Catholic prayer gesture, but they don't use Catholicism or God for the most part to guide themselves.... they use family and tradition as well as good old family values. They respect each other and at the end of the day, family wins, regardless of the arguement. More shows like this and less GTA video games and we'd be a lot better off. Your post sounds like you have an axe to grind. It's easy for you to not have to endure the horrible blight of families who have Sunday Dinner together, as many do. Turn the dial and don't watch.
