I can only rate this as average (a "3"), after having watched all three seasons, so far. I'm in no hurry for S4 to get done. Hopefully, the writing will become more interesting and concise, without much deviation/tangents.
I do like the ability to binge-watch all 10 episodes within a day or two, and hope that practice continues.
I'm guessing S4 will the final season. I hope the entire production gives its best shot.

JR is very good. I would not put it in the same line as "Homeland" or "Tehran". I can get past the recharacterization of Ryan as a little more action oriented (though as we saw in the other two shows, that doesn't have to be the case). Last episode of Season 3 was not well done, very forced, they needed a military advisor big-time with that one, could have been done a half-dozen different ways that would make it more credible.
Still, definitely worht a renewal and continued viewership.

Does this series give respect to all the Jack Ryan movies (ie, is it worthy)? [The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit]
I think I liked them all except I don't believe I've seen the Ben Afleck one yet. Harrison Ford and Alec Baldwin were good. I saw Shadow Recruit not that long ago and I liked it especially since Chris Pine and Keira Knightley were very good (it's reviews weren't great).

I was enjoying the show but when Jack Ryan went to get his friend from the Venezuelan president he killed soldier after soldier who were just doing their job. They weren't henchmen but the racist writers thought it was fine to kill them. Horribly racist. Shame on them.

So just as a side note
Why no Abbie Cornish?
I understand that elements had to be updated to move with the times but no Cathy Mueller?
Not even close to cool at all.

Definitely worth watching! I loved John Krasinski as Jack Ryan. There were a couple things I am glad they made more current to today’s society but a few things I disagreed with. My hope for Season 2 is that they fine tune a few things that were too far fetched. (I don’t want to give details and spoil it for others). I would have given it 4.5 stars if that was an option.
