No Season 3 for the workplace comedy.
May 12, 2018
It is being reported that Superior Donuts has been cancelled after two seasons. The sad news comes just days before the comedy's planned sophomore finale, which will now act as its series ender.
The half-hour series premiered early last year as a mid-season entry, performing well enough to earn itself a Season 2 pickup. But after being moved to the network's regular fall schedule, the show couldn't maintain its momentum, especially during the back-half of its run.
Superior Donuts stars Judd Hirsch as an old-school owner of a Chicago donut shop that hasn't changed since it first opened in 1969. And as his shop has stayed frozen in time, the neighborhood around it is changing. But now starting to fall on hard times, he starts to let his enterprising young employee help bring his business into the 21st century.
The series finale of Superior Donuts airs this Monday, May 14.

I got a little tired of the preachiness the show seemed to force on me. I watched but was thinking about dropping it. Guess I won’t need to

I meant that I resisted the craving.

@Nathan Ciszewski - You wrote exactly what I was thinking.
The donut props were real enough to make me crave donuts, which I managed to do through Herculean effort.

I watched it but always thought it was a show that was mysteriously less than the sum of its parts. Such a phenomenal cast that put out such a mediocre show.

I really liked this show in the beginning, but sadly it was easy to drop after the holidays when I needed space on my TiVo. I hope the cast members find other projects...

No surprise here. I liked the show but the writing could have been better

Too much "after school special" writing. Sorry, TV writers are NOT going to give me life lessons that are believable. They threw the comedy out the window in an effort to "educate" viewers which I found often insulting.

Hogwash this was the Best Comedy on Cbs. The diaglogue between Arthur and Franco made this show good.

I really enjoyed the show & I’m sad to see it end... but I seen it really get political lately & didn’t really appreciate it...
