The crime procedural will return for the 2012-2013 season.

CBS announced today that it has renewed Criminal Minds for the 2012-2013 season, which will be its eighth. The long-running series has been a steady performer for the network over the years, but an attempt at a spin-off in 2011 failed, with the now-cancelled Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior lasting only one season.
Along with Criminal Minds, CBS also announced the renewals of other dramas Person of Interest, The Good Wife, both installments of NCIS, Hawaii Five-0, CSI, Blue Bloods, and The Mentalist. Notably absent from today's list of pickups are CSI:Miami, CSI:NY, A Gifted Man, and Unforgettable. While not yet considered cancelled, the future of these series does not look too promising at this point.
Six episodes remain in the current season of Criminal Minds, with the season finale scheduled for May 23, 2012.

I'm so glad they renewed this show. I hate that the spin off didn't last. I actually liked it too. As long as Criminal Minds continues I am happy.

Supposedly the only one leaving the show is the actress that plays Emily Prentiss.

So happy!!! I love this show!!! Wish they'd sign up for a 3 yr contract but I'll settle for 1.........season 8. Keep them coming!!!!

Hope there actually IS an 8th season. This my FAV show EVER. But if Shemar Moore leaves, Im not sure I could watch it with that pleasure.. He is the best! The hottest! Damn, he is gorgeous! Best cast ever tbh.. Im obssesed.

I love criminal minds, best tv show ever can't belive that Emily is leaving at the end of Season 7, hope Reid Is there in season 8! I love Shemar Moore xx

Love Criminal Minds, only just started watching it in last few months. glad its being shown from series 1 on sky so can see from beginning. Love Reid's character, I hope he signs for series 8, His brilliance of the scripts are fantastic and wouldn't be the same
