CBS has renewed Criminal Minds for a 12th season. The long-running procedural drama continues to be a strong entry in the eye network's lineup, with its most-recent season ranking in the Top 10 dramas among adults 18-49 as well as total viewers.
While the original Criminal Minds has stood the test of time, its spin-offs have yet to prove their lasting power. 2011's Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior was short-lived, and this year's mid-season entry Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders is still awaiting news of a second season, though a renewal appears likely at this point.

Meh, they should just really conclude this show already.
With the main cast changing so much (and really, no Shemar Moore anymore after Paget Brewster left?) and the temporary fillers (Jennifer Love Hewitt, the amazing Aisha Tyler) just changes the dynamics of the show so it falls flat. I do find that the storylines are pretty similar each year too. I'm kind of debating removing this from my PVR :(

Mandy Patinkin left after season 2 and the show wasnt good after that.
Same thing with NCIS. Sasha Alexander left at the end of Season 2 and that show wasnt good anymore either.
Too many of these police procedural shows peak at either 2 or 3 seasons. Yet they seem to last forever.
