ABC has renewed Dancing with the Stars for a 19th season. Though the show's once-dominant ratings have slipped in recent years, it remains the network's main reality competition series.
For next season it is expected that the show will retain the scaled-back format of one night a week that it adopted last year.
UPDATE: Season 19 of Dancing with the Stars will premiere on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 8:00pm.

I am surprised it was renewed. I love this show and was so disappointed when it went to one day a week. I preferred the two day format and I thought that the change meant it was on its way out. So a pleasant surprise for me.
