The drama ends after five seasons.
January 6, 2015
It is being reported that USA Network has cancelled Covert Affairs after its fifth season, which concluded last month. The spy drama's falling ratings are said to be the primary reason behind the move, with Season 5 hitting series low ratings and averaging 1.5 million viewers. For comparison, Covert Affair's first season averaged 5 million viewers.

Well I guess the viewing public/fans of the show couldn't reconcile a CIA Field Agent running around on covert missions, with a heart condition that requires manual intervention on a periodic basis. That don't fly in my book ... My opinion !

At one point USA had the best shows on TV! Burn Notice, Monk, White Collar, Covert Affairs, Psych now all are gone. You suck USA network!

At one time, USA had the best group of dramas on TV. Between the shows that have concluded and those you cancelled USA has gone from best to worst. What a shame. Bring back Covert Affairs!!

Not surprised... there were a lot of really bad script decisions made with this show. It had started out interesting and immersive and then devolved into a blonde brat pretty much doing whatever she wants and lucking out with little to no repercussions. It became very tedious and I think the last two season we only watched just to see where it would end rather than really caring about anything.
If they had stayed a little more focused on spycraft and the duality of the allegiances that CIA operatives have and maintain and then focused on the professional relationships and politics they could have run this show for another 5 years with solid ratings. Instead, they turned into the same BS, limp stick, drivel that appeases goats with an IQ of stale bread and killed the show.
mmph... next!

What killed Covert Affairs was giving her a heart condition. That was a bad move. She went from being the total package for a CIA operative to one where she's only good till she has an episode of her heart situation acting up. I seen no reason for it in the story line. Also, moving her from being in the CIA to working for a private contractor was a bad move as well. Also, I think most people wanted her to end up with Auggie. Lots of bad choices in my humble opinion.

I will miss this show and agree that it was really tacky for USA not to do something to provide an better ending to a long-running, popular series. There were many loose ends left at the end of the season. I hope their new shows that I have read here http://www.exploretalent.com/articles/covert-affairs-ends-five-seasons/ like Dig, Mr. Robot and others will be better than this.

At some point during season 3 I stopped watching. The episodes got piled up on my DVR and I never caught up and ended up removing them and the record series pass.

Yup - not a big surprise. Annies heart issue was nothing more than a distraction. For some reason shows no longer seem to be able to maintain sexual tension between major characters. They just give in and let them have their fling and then find some excuse for it to never work. Hint to Hollywood writers - people LIKE the sexual tension and once you relieve it you have to find an equally intriguing vehicle. This show never really found a good enough one to replace Annie and Augie. They tried with Ryan McQuaid - but gave in to relieving that so fast the show was destined to burn out in one season.
It is very sad that we won't see a conclusion - it would be nice if networks could give a nod to remaining fans. Granted that's only 1.5 million, but the current trend is to just flip them off. Unfortunately that's 1.5 million people who are soured to whatever it is you would like them to watch next.

Ahhhhh... That is a bummer. LOVED that show. Do the ratings take into consideration all of us who record our shows to watch them later??? Wish they would have concluded the story. After waiting all these seasons for them to find and capture the thug they always wanted, they have him and were headed back home when the last episode ended. Major Cliff Hanger. It's hard to dedicate yourself to 5 seasons of a show, then get left hanging at a critical time in the show!!!! Grrrrr....

Sorry to hear that.. This was last of episodic tv I watched.. I will miss Annie Walker... No wonder it was canceled.. as USA did not make any great business of promoting it this year and dropped into Thursday night purgatory. Too bad...I will miss it......
