FX orders more of its new comedy.
September 20, 2016
FX announced today that Better Things has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes after just two episodes of the freshman comedy, which is off to a solid start through its first couple of weeks on the air.
The show's September 7 premiere was watched by 1.4 million viewers (Live+7), and particularly struck a chord with females, ranking as the second-most watched comedy episode of the year on basic cable among women 18-34.
Created by Pamela Adlon and Louis C.K., the series stars Adlon as a divorced actress raising her three daughters in Los Angeles. FX has commissioned 10 new episodes for Season 2, which matches its first-season order.

Agree with Pope (immediately below) although I watched first episode only. Pamela Adlon was great in Louie so material is what's lacking. Speaking of Louis CK produced (?) shows, I only watched the first episode of that clown series with Lois Anderson. I laughed just once in that one.
The Loiue show was almost always great when I watched it, but I've seen enough of Louis CK to know that he thinks that just being vulgar is funny. It's not. Drugs and vulgarity are not funny if there isn't a really good story to tell. In fact, they make it harder to be funny, especially when you do it a lot. Loius CK and Dennis Leary are talents easily diminished when they take the stupidity of the audience for granted. All too common these days to think sleazy behavior itself is funny.

Sorry, I've watched all 3 episodes... never even cracked a smile. It seems to me they are going for the "shock" factor not laughs.. I mean.... masturbation ep 1.. the period ep 2... the hose color ep 3... all trying to shock.. but I'm failing to see ANY humor anywhere. Maybe if you're a bit more uptight these "shock" episodes seem good to you.. but really.. I'm not even finding them shocking... All I see is pandering to elicit some response... but just can't find any humor. Louie was hilarious 10 years ago... but, well... he's lost his drive.. and Adlon.. well... great in Califonication but never really a leading character to me.

Hey Dakota. First, thanks for finally being honest. Second.. do you see how ludicrous it is to be "upset' with a username here is now?? Picking on me because of the username I choose is just stupid..... and boy.. have you shown how stupid you can be, naturally I assumed you were a Trump supporter.

Oh, I thought about it... I'll admit I AM a Trump supporter and I'm sick and tired of all "other' people taking over my country. Face it middle-age white men built this country and I deserve to be treated accordingly. It makes no difference that I'm gay and Don Don and I are lovers. I just think it's wrong if your opinion doesn't coincide with mine. bub clearly has issues because he can't see that I, and my beliefs are always the correct way. Trump is right... we need to make this country great again and shut down the cacophony of opinions others have.

It has been interesting enough for me to keep watching it. I've found some things more shocking, than funny, though.

I like the concept and love Pamela Adlon. This show is a mixed bag for me. I honestly have a hard time watching because the kids are just so terrible. They need to give them some redeeming moments/qualities soon or I just can't stomach it. Hopefully it grows and falls into itself soon. Not a bad watch though.

Leave it to "bub" to ASSume i support Trump. Not really sure how you brought politics into this. I have never posted anything political. I do NOT support Trump or Hillary. Two sides of the same coin.
The fact that you brought politics into this only further proves how idiotic you are.

Hey Dakota.. how's your latest Trump rally going? Getting lots of bigot and liars to sign up are you.... yeah you all herd together. And uhm... never stated anywhere I wanted or had any credibility... but guess what?? My opinion matters just as much as yours does.... and I'm not the one that made it a point to stalk me... am I ? Glad your'e thinking of me... but no.. I still won't date you. Stop asking.

I see "bub" is commenting again.
I always see him complaining about every single show on here!
Well, almost every show.
Thats right folks, i have finally found a show where "bub" left a positive comment. Sadly, it was on an article explaining that the crappy reality show Big Brother has been renewed for 2 more seasons.
Sorry "bub", you no longer have ANY credibility. Always hating on entertaining and well made scripted shows but then turns around and praises Big Brother???
People like you are the reason American television has more dumb reality showz than high quality scripted programming.
