No Season 5 for the cable drama.
March 8, 2018
Word is out this evening that TNT has cancelled The Librarians after four seasons. Showrunner Dean Devlin took to Twitter with the news, posting that he will be attempting to find a new home for the movie-based series. The show aired its final episode just last month.
The adventure drama premiered on the cable network in 2014 as an expansion of its hit movie franchise, following an ancient organization hidden beneath the Metropolitan Public Library whose members dedicate their lives to protecting the world from the secret, magical reality hidden all around.
The reason for today's cancellation is unclear, as The Librarians was a solid performer for the cable network over the course of its run. It was however, one of the last series still on the air from before Kevin Reilly became president of TNT. Since his arrival, Reilly has been taking the network's original programming in a different, more edgy, direction.

Well this was a really fun show. Tnt should learn that successful is more important than edgy. Look at amc with that cop show they put on and the restaurant one. Both were edgy but did not get renewed. This show was doing well , So it should find a new home. Or at least let's hope so.

I agree with Sandi and the other posters--we should have a say as to when a show gets renewed or cancelled--give us the vote and we will tell you. It's a constant disappointment when a network cancels a show, especially when they say, "it really was a solid performer..." I will wait to see which network it ends up because I will continue to watch.

I'm glad it ran as long as it did. Despite being a silly whimsical fantasy, I enjoyed The Librarians. That said, there were definitely some episodes that were sorely lacking.
.
I liked the cast though it didn't really make sense to me based on the premise of the movies. I would have liked one more year, but the romance as well as tethering to the library sent the show downhill. Oh well. I can't get upset since they gave it a good run. A lot of shows aren't that lucky.

I really wish that 'we' the viewers had a say in what stays and what goes. The Librarians would continue for a long time to come if I could make it so. Some of the horrible and completely stupid shows that are on TV today are downright awful shows! Really do hope this show will land somewhere where we can still enjoy a little magic in our lives!

Damn, i loved that show. Sure it was a little campy and ridiculious at times, but overall it was a lot of fun. Im getting sick of these networks dumping shows because they want to revamp their "image." No one cares if an "edgy-modern network" has one or two shows that are quirky, so long as theyre good shows.
I will say though that I am fed up to here with Noah Wyle - every time he dissappeared there was a brief moment when I had hoped he was gone for good...

Noooo! This is one of my favorite shows! I never miss an episode. TNT apparently got hit in the head and lost its mind. Really hope another station picks it up so they can show TNT what it lost.

I can't believe that fun, family friendly shows like this keep getting axed and other crappy, trashy shows keep getting renewed. I know it wasn't 'the best show' out there but it was usually an enjoyable way to spend an hour.

Could have been a deeper developed show. It was rather campy and a bit silly, but it was decent TV I could watch with my 9 year old son.

Season 4 wasn't really that great, they seemed to just phone it in and it cost them a renewal I think. The show is good and the idea is great so hope they can pull it together someplace else.
