The crime drama will be back in 2019.

NBC announced today that The Blacklist has been renewed for a sixth season. The good news comes days ahead of the crime drama's Season 6 finale, which is promising fans answers to its season-long mystery.
Led by James Spader, the veteran series premiered in 2013 and was one of the top new shows of the year. Ratings have tapered off quite a bit since then, but episodes still draw a consistent audience on Wednesday nights. The show surpassed the 100-episode milestone earlier this year.
The Blacklist stars Spader as an ex-government agent-turned-FBI's most wanted fugitive, who mysteriously surrenders himself to the agency with an offer to help them bring down some of the country's top criminals. The only condition is that he gets to work alongside an FBI profiler named Elizabeth Keen, which leads to a twisting series of events that slowly reveal his true motives.
NBC has reportedly ordered another 22 episodes for Season 6 of The Blacklist, which is in-line with each of its previous seasons. Look for a premiere in January 2019.

Glad to see it's renewed and it picked back up after the baby drama storyline. I like that Red's has a worthy adversary with his daughter. I believe even after cliffhanger she is still his daughter but the other one isn't. That explains why he's never put any effort into finding her. Not sure how much longer show can go on but I'm a fan of James Spader so I'll watch as long as it doesn't get to boring.

This Season has ended with the mother of all cliffhangers, if they didn't renew it some TV Execs would have to go into hiding lol.

I love this show on the whole. The problem is that the characters were getting along well at the end of season four and the beginning of five. Elizabeth embraced her relationship with Reddington. The FBI people recognized their path with him was mostly beneficial and that lines blur when working toward their goals of getting bad guys. Now that season five is ending Elizabeth has become hostile toward her father. This whole duffel bag thing has gone on far too long. It's now tedious to watch it go on. Even Reddington is becoming more angry toward Elizabeth because of this plot line. Shows die because they veer from the original formulas that made them successful. It all happens because writers feel the need to be "creative". This show could go on for years if they don't change anything. There are plenty of bad guys around the world and in the USA that could be handled. Keep it fun people. Stop changing the formula.

James Spader is spectacular! I gained alot of wisdom and insight into the dark side of human nature from listening to his comments on the show. He knows the difference between human behavior (psychology) and human nature (sin).

This show is fiction and not to be taken as real. That should silence the critics on here, as in sure it is not. Like the fbi. In real life, the show is. Good and Megan is a fine actress. Spacer though is the reason this show keeps going, he is the main draw.

This show is a mess. The plotlines wander all over the place. The relationship between Red and Elizabeth keeps shifting. Elizabeth is in the FBI, then she's out, then she's back in. The FBI team has broken the law so many times they aren't any better than Red. It looks like they're making it up as they go.
There are a few episodes that are worth watching each season, but the trend line is clearly down.

Well, James Spader is certainly the highlight of this show. When they had the baby story-line, I nearly gave up. Too whiny, too aggravating and simply unbearable. Now the only change they need to make is get rid of Megan Boone (or write her to be more realistic) and we're all set.

How many years are we going to be led on by some mysterious bag of "whatever" this time? It's getting too formulaic and predictable. I can almost predict each line of dialog.

Fantastic News, Love Spader's performance. Like most the cast even if they have some soapy/forced drama moments at times And not a big fan of the duffel bag hunt of 2018, but have high hopes for how it could shake up the show going by how much inferces they are putting on it(if it can deliver on the hype).
