The crime drama will continue in 2020.
March 11, 2019
NBC announced today that The Blacklist has been picked up for a seventh season. Word is that Season 7 was already secured last May when the crime drama was renewed for Season 6, though nothing was said at the time. Currently sitting at an impressive 121 total episodes, the show could surpass the 150 mark if next season follows suit with another full 22 episodes.
Led by James Spader, the series premiered in 2013 as one of the top new shows of that year. While its best days have long-since passed, the show still draws a decent audience in its new Friday night time slot. This season marks its first as a mid-season player, with a January premiere rather than its typical fall start. The network will likely keep it in the mid-season for 2019-2020.
The Blacklist stars Spader as an ex-government agent-turned-FBI's most wanted fugitive, who mysteriously surrenders himself to the agency with an offer to help them bring down some of the country's top criminals. The only condition is that he gets to work alongside an FBI profiler named Elizabeth Keen, which leads to a twisting series of events that slowly reveal his true motives.

Love this show and James Spader is the bomb! His portrayal of Reddington is awesome and he makes a mercenary killer a likeable fellow. Don't see that too often. Some of the story lines got a bit long in the tooth, but all in all a very watchable show. Great characters and writing. With not many decent shows on television as of late, I look forward to watching Blacklist every week. Will be sad when it ends.

There's been no word yet on when we can expect the new season, but watch this space for updates. The first five seasons premiered in late September or early October, but season 6 didn't land until January. Watch this space.

What a fantastic show. The story lines are extremely intriguing, and while the Liz story line did get a little old, Spader's acting, and the stories are always full of action, intrigue, twists, and surprises. It's definitely one of the best shows on television today. I'm looking forward to Season # 7 and hope it can go on further. I will be very disappointed when it finally ends.

I have come to detest tv shows, but the exception is Blacklist ~ it is so well done! Spader is a terrific actor, and the script is terrific. I think it is the best show on television.

James Spader, liked the guy in Boston Legal, but the Blacklist in my humble estimation is the very best in plot(s), writing in general, creativity, story line, characters etc., but to say the very least the acting/interaction with Spader at the helm. One of my all-time favorite actors. So cool, suave and erudite among others with his character and believable. James Spader is a great technician within his craft. Definitely two thumbs and ten toes upward!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Blacklist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I love the show The Blacklist! James Spader is hilarious and has captured our total interest. He is incredible and the best! However we watch the show for the story line, the dynamics of the whole team (we love them all), the twists and turns.
Congratulations to James Spader!
Please keep the Blacklist going. We are waiting anxiously for series # 7 and then hope that it will keep going after that.
