The Hallmark drama will return in 2022.
May 9, 2021
Hallmark Channel's When Calls the Heart has been renewed for a ninth season. The good news arrived during tonight's season finale, with star Erin Krakow making the announcement.
Currently the network's oldest original drama on the air, the series has been enjoying an impressively-long run thanks to steady viewership that has continued to rank it as one of cable TV's top-rated shows.
Inspired by Janette Oke's book of the same name, When Calls the Heart takes place in the early 20th century and follows a young teacher from a wealthy eastern family who moves to a small western coal mining town for her first classroom assignment.
Look for Season 9 of When Calls the Heart in 2022.

I’m annoyed can’t watch it anymore as you can only get it on the Hallmark channel, which I don’t have and can’t afford to get.
Used to watch it on one of the Canadian channels.

I stopped watching the show when they threw Lori under the bus. So she made a mistake, she has paid her debt, Hallmark get over yourself.

I think I am done. The story line is way off of what we all thought it would be. Bring back Laurie as Abigail. She paid her debt to society. It is time to forgive and go on.. We do anything for our kids. If I had the money I would everything I could to make their lives easier. So let's make the show what it was suppose to be. A show of compassion. I don't think anyone is happy that Elisabeth has chosen Lucas. Just doesn't fit her character. Very disappointed.

I want to see this show die. It's been hard to watch as the writing continues to go downhill and into the gutter.

Hard to believe it has survived losing two of its three original main stars. But it does fill an unique space in family drama these days.
