Hallmark Channel announced this evening that When Calls the Heart has been renewed for a 13th season. The news comes on the night of its Season 12 finale. Serving as the network's longest-running original series on the air, the show has been enjoying steady viewership that has continued to rank it as one of cable TV's top-rated shows.
"Hearties are far more than a fan-base - they are a connected community, as loyal and supportive as the characters of Hope Valley," said Hallmark Media's Senior Vice President, Programming Samantha DiPippo, in a statement. "It is an honor to tell stories of hope, resilience, humor and romance that continue to resonate with millions of viewers for twelve seasons and beyond."
Inspired by Janette Oke's book of the same name, When Calls the Heart takes place in the early 20th century and follows a young teacher from a wealthy eastern family who moves to a small western coal mining town for her first classroom assignment.
Look for Season 13 in 2026.

Well, it's permanent employment for a small group of Canadian actors.
