No Season 4 for the plane mystery drama.
June 14, 2021
It is being reported that NBC has cancelled Manifest after three seasons. The sad news comes just days after the mystery drama aired its now-final episode, which ended on a cliffhanger and, unfortunately for fans, left the show's main ongoing plotline unresolved.
The network's decision to end the series does not come as a complete surprise. Ratings have fallen off in the last couple of seasons, and it was on the bubble for renewal last year at this time as well. There had been hope for a possible Season 4, though, after the show shot to the top of the Netflix charts after its recent debut on the streaming service, but it appears its performance there did not do much to change any minds.
Shortly after the news broke, series creator Jeff Rake took to Twitter to express his disappointment that the show was axed halfway through his planned six-season arc. He thanked the fans, saying they deserve a proper ending, and also stated his intent to find a new home for the series.
Manifest follows the passengers and crew of Montego Air Flight 828, which recently landed safely after being reported missing five years ago. To those aboard, though, it was just a typical flight with a bit of turbulence. With the returned passengers and crew back home, they now face a new reality with a second chance. But a deeper mystery starts to unfold as some of the returned realize they could be meant for something greater.

Best wishes to the cast & crew.
This type of series wasn't for me. My wife liked it and others like it however. I think the type started with "Lost" and seem to recall there were a few others similar tv series ("Haven" was another) which never interested me.
I suspect someday, there will be another series with some magical mystery underlying the entire series for viewers to wonder & guess what's going on.
Doesn't matter

From what I can see, any show that did not mention Covid-19 was cancelled. How is that ok?

Honestly, I'm surprised it made it through the first season.

Anyone else really wish they would do 1-2 more episodes to finish the story line? Now this is yet another unfished series! What a shame.
Happy Viewing! :-)

Show was good but not shocked by this announcement. Felt because of the pandemic it was digging for a new story line to get in on a short time and became similar to “Lost” in ways. Not sure if it really had any other way to go. I’m sure it will land a home on some streaming platform and just another reason why a lot of people have stopped investing in network shows as they slowly begin to evolve to the app world anyway. Regardless, thought first two seasons were good but this last season with the rushed schedule and doubled up episodes, it began to get contrived. My thoughts only...

Wow! Every show I was watching on the major four this year was cancelled now. Macguyver, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Debris, and now Manifest. I have nothing left that I am watching on NBC, ABC, CBS, or Fox. I have zero need anymore for cable or satellite now. If there was ever a case for me to cut the cord it’s now. At least Macguyver and Zoey’s ended on happy notes with no cliffhangers. But Debris and Manifest never even explaining anything really and leaving so many plot holes open, that’s ridiculous. Anything sci-fi, fantasy, or supernatural-related on the major four never last. Truly “Lost” may have been the last major show of that genre to have made it through all their seasons and tell a full story. I’m done watching anything new on the prime four that are in my favorite genre because nine times out of ten they just get axed in the first season of two and once in a blue moon make it to a later season and still get axed leaving vested viewers with no answers and nothing but frustration.

I’m so disappointed that this show was canceled, but not surprised when it comes to these networks and they wonder why people are going to streaming services. All the networks want to push on us the viewers are these crappy reality shows or singing shows. Really mad

With only 2 seasons left until the ending, this is right up Netflix alley, save it like w/ Lucifer, and give the dedicated fans a ending that they deserve. I’m waiting on NBC too do this to the Blacklist in a couple of years, which might be the dumbest thing a network has ever done, which is saying a lot.

I kind of had a feeling that this was going to happen, as I was checking daily for news of it’s demise. When the networks are sucking at good new comedies the dramas were their one bright spot. Now with both Manifest and Debris cancelled. This is Us moving into it’s last season, I’m just waiting for the idiots to cancel New Amsterdam. That makes my viewing remodeling and car shows. And no proper finales! Networks treat its customers like GARBAGE!
